No snow worth bothering so far this winter, last 2 were superb though.
Only car that could get in/out the estate for a few days till the neighbours got fed up and we cleared the whole street.

And it was great to play in the back roads that were untreated so the snow was nice and deep.

I wish it would snow more.

I'll be happy with the old 300tdi disco so long as

A) it starts - battery is on charge
B) having swaped the head gasket it doesn't overheat.

Ps I live out in the sticks and when it snows it'll be bad with single track roads etc. Fingers crossed.

Just come back from an 'essential' trip to the local take-a-way which is about 7 miles down single track lanes and we have about 8 inch of snow - just enough to have some fun in the FFRR. Plenty of steep drops with turns so the hill decent control was doing its stuff. Offered to drag a couple of people up some minor slopes but they seemed to prefer to continue push each other, which wasn't having much effect as far as I could tell. The LR realy is in its element in these conditions. The best fun I've had for a while

Unless you've tracked down why it let go in the first place, it'll probably do it again. Soon.

No because today my defender took to not starting and buring out two starter motors

Just recovered one of my very embarrassed customers in a Disco 3 from a ditch, he went out playing late last night.

Sorry forgot to add, I used my Landcruiser. Proper 4x4's.

The Wrangler MTRs are better in the conditions here than the Scorpion ATRs IME. Wouldn't use them on packed snow / ice. YMMV.

just got back after a bit of fun offroading and snowy/icy main roads

FFRR 4.4 V8 with Vred Wintrac 4Xtremes - superb

first chance i've had to use this particular car in the snow - certainly better than the earlier RR's i've had/driven

as usual a lot of BMW's in trouble!!!

also took out my fathers Focus (auto) which i fitted with Vred Snowtracks (wintracs not available in this size) - excellent

I've been having more fun with my Daihatsu Fourtrak. Switchable 4x4 at the push of a button and no electronic traction/stability stuff = lots of fun.

My Disco, in contrast, makes it much too easy.

try turning off DSC/HDC etc - can be fun!!

Not really, it's taken me several weeks to work out what waterpump I need on my V8. Anyone know where I can get a P6 short nose pump today so I can go play?
