What a true hero of a man, -2 degrees recording on my car and he is sat doing 75 on the motorway with the roof down! Caught up again much later on in heavy traffic...still with the roof down.

Whoever you are sir, you have my ultimate respect! was hoping to get level with you to give you a thumbs up, but traffic never allowed me.

Keeping it vague as I saw the same thing a couple of weeks ago...credit to all you mx-5 drivers... beer

I saw a BMW with the roof down this morning during the school run, onboard temp gauge said it was -3 outside, so I decided that his roof must have been broken wink

I saw a Caterham with the tent/ hood up today, despite the lovely sunshine we had all day (around the B1018 in Essex). The driver should be ashamed nono (says me in my tin top hehe)

In the MX5 today, -6, roof down! No motorway drive, that's brave! Luckily my commute's on back roads so max of 60. Not as cold as you'd think..

Does the MX-5 roof fold down easily even if it's freezing?

I've had the roof down in my MR2 roadster this winter a fair number of times when it's just above freezing, but it is a bit stiffer than usual.

Please stop guys, I miss my mx-5 like you wouldnt believe. When I had it the roof was down any time it was not raining. The heater was great, always kept me warm.

The mohair one does, the vinyl one not really, you'll crack the plastic screen and it's recommended to not be folded in freezing conditions.
If mine is still snowy/frosty when I put it down, I just leave the heated screen on a little longer to prevent it sticking together!

Saw a guy in a Z4 sans roof, good on him! Really wanted to take my TVR out but seeing as I live on a hill, in the sticks, I thought it was not for the best frown

I had my vinyl MX5 hood down as it was pliable after the sun had been on it, but i left it too long in the evening and it went rigid. In the end i had to pour hot water over it so i could shut it. After getting water in the car a hair dryer might have been better.......
oops
