Kerb and driveway issues/solutions for low cars

Evening everyone, I moved home about a year ago and I've had a problem with the camber of the road and the camber of my driveway where by driving up the drive forwards you would grind out the front splitter badly, so the solution was reversing up however i needed to reverse at an angle to lift on side of the car over the raised kerbs to avoid scraping the front of the car again.

Anyway roll forward to today and I've replaced my old car with a boxster and even before purchasing the car I knew this could be an issue and sure enough even at the angle reversing up the underside of the front bumper just touches, you can't see it but you can here it from inside the car.

What I'm looking for is a solution which doesn't involve ripping up the drive and changing the angle of incline, I've seen this in the US http://www.jandkcurbramps.com/servlet/Detail?no=1 and wondered a) this would work b) if a solution like the was available in the uk c) is there another option.

Scaffold boards, chuck em along the curb edge, they will have the same effect as the product your looking at. Trouble with this is placing the things down and then removing them every time you want to get the car in and out


Or, even more expense, Air suspension for the car (so you can jack up the body when hitting the camber)
Or, fit a chin guard underneath the front nose.
Or, Sell house and move to a flat area, Norfolk springs to mind
Or, Sell car and buy a 4x4......Sorry, stupid idea

I made a wooden thing similar to that with a channel for the water to run down the gutter but two council officers came to the door when I was out and made my son remove it, saying it presented a hazard (maybe to shipping = I live in a cul-de-sac!)

If the splitter only just grounds out, maybe a couple of gentle trips up and down will remove enough material for it to not catch any more?

Sue the council for hazards and creating a dangerous driving issue. They will probably pay you a lot of money

To be absolutely honest that looks the best option esp at the cost. Worst case the council throws a hissy fit at which point you can throw back at them the fact the road design is causing damage to your vehicle and ask if they can install a ramp.

I have the same problem The fronts low even on flat roads, Speed bumps are a Hazzard even going in and out of some petrol station forecourts is a hazzard

When I last had a low car, I made sure that the centre of the bumper sat higher than the edges. Main reason for this is because of the overhang the front will not rise up until the wheels hit the incline. My bumper was fairly low, but I didn't suffer with it at all. I would suggest modifying the car rather than the driveway. It's easier, cheaper and you'll benefit in other areas too (such as the aforementioned speed bumps).
