90s Sports Cars That Are Now Affordable
Discussion
Which great looking sports cars from the 90s or early 2000s has time forgot and can be had for a bargain price now? The one that caught my attention recently was the Mitsubishi 3000GT which seems like an awesome car with 4WD and 4 wheel steering and powered by an Evo engine. This is the real 90s stuff whos posters adorned many bedroom walls.
Surely there must some other examples of really nice looking cars from the 90s that people forgot about and now make bargain sense?

mr2??
Do you mean supercar or sports car? Would an mx5 count?
Anything affordable so I would say less than £12k max as a current price.Do you mean supercar or sports car? Would an mx5 count?
The MR2 is a nice suggestion. The MX5 would not count as it has been carried forward into new designs and was always pitched as 'budget' car. I'm really talking about cars that turned heads in the 90s and bedroom poster cars from that we can now buy without thinking twice.

Im not sure the GTO is a sports car really, and I think it was a V6 engine rather than the evos I4.
I guess it depends by what you mean by affordable?
There are lots of 90's cars that are a fraction of their new price that I would call a bargain- Mr2's, mx5's, rx7's, elan's, elises, TVR 350's, 200sx's, Z3's, 968's
If you define a GTO as a sports car I would also include mk3 and mk4 supras, r33 and r34 gtst's/ gtt's, 300zx, M3's etc.
But there are certainly plenty of 90's bargains to be had.

The MR2 was a budget car in the first place, and remains so.The MR2 is a nice suggestion. £12k opens up a huge range of buying options. My question would be, however, doe sthis vehicle have to be runnable within a budget?

OP, do you just mean performance cars, not sports cars? If so, there are loads.

Dunno if they could be called a sports car but the fiat coupe turbo, Corrado G60/VR6? I would consider them sporty anyway.
Sporty but not sports cars.Always hankered for one of these (albeit in V8 form but they tend to be above the 12k limit you mentionned)

£8995.
There is a silver 996 on the owners drive about 3 miles from my house with a For Sale in the window, he wants £9600, and it's been up for sale for at least 2 months.

As a person who knows absolutely nothing about porsches. Why are the 993's fetching nearly twice the price at the bottom end, compared to the newer 996's?
993 is prettier, and the last of the air-cooled cars. The 996's have known engine issues, and aren't as cool. the 997 got prettier, but they're still getting relatively cheap, too.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
