Non alcoholic drinks - what's yours?
Discussion
Mine is milk - 55 years and I still drink 2 or 3 pints a day.
Very rarely I'll have a hot chocolate, perhaps some water, perhaps orange juice.
Really don't like fizzy drinks (coke etc), never drank tea or coffee.
Thank goodness I live in NZ, where the "white gold" is the mainstay of the economy - and I do my bit to keep things going.
How about you?
I never drink coffee (can't stand the stuff!) and I only ever have tea if I'm having Bovril on toast (better than Marmite), or a full English brekkie.
Until recently I'd go through 3 cans of Diet Coke during the day at work, then in the evening I'd have most of a 2 litre bottle of Diet Coke, and also a pint of semi-skimmed milk.
Now I've swapped the cans during the day for mineral water, I only have about 500ml of Diet Coke in the evenings, and have increased the semi-skimmed milk to 2 pints.

Milk, yuk. Imagine you're still breastfeeding at the age of 55, moreover from another species.
I recently discovered I am lactose intolerant, which is perfectly fine as I never liked the stuff anyway.
My non-alcoholic drinks of choice are herbal/green tea, or freshly-squeezed juice. I love juice and must go through 4Kg of oranges and 2Kg of apples in a week, quite easily.

I think it's advised to be careful how much milk we drink, as I thought it was common knowledge that adult humans are actually slightly intolerant to it, all be it at different levels depending on intake and individual.
True, but in the western/developed world it's not all that common (maybe 10% of the population), because we consume a lot of dairy products which keeps us able to digest lactose after breastfeeding stops. But elsewhere in the world where dairy is not so prominent in the diet, it's more like 80% of the population that are lactose intolerant.Gassing Station | Food, Drink & Restaurants | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
