Car battery lifespan.

I got a new Battery today (the car was still starting just about, but the clock, radio etc where resetting when started, plus I could order a new battery online for £40, instead of waiting till it went pop and having to get the exact same battery in halfords for £100)

Anyway, the old battery was a 12 year old FIAMM battery, which seems like a long time for a battery to last, so is there anyone else with a older battery?

That's pretty good going, the one in my Fiesta lasted about 11 years I think.
