Guess true/false - were they still gritting Twyford at 10pm?

Well I don't know where they've spread their grit I couldn't see any evidence when I was out earlier?
What I can say is that winter tyres on a BMW are soooo much better than the 'ordinary'/summer tyres I had on last year.
Only one hill it couldn't get up and that was because I stopped half way up to see if we could do a hill start on snow, so not really a fair test. I rolled back to the bottom, approached with some momentum and easily got to the top.

Hi all i have two mates who both do gritting runs and believe me its no fun , the abuse there get its just unreal , what you have to remember there only go out when there get the call from the local council and often its to late as what happened last year, by the time there got called out due to some imbecile who probably was on his 4 hour lunch break , the snow had settled and grid lock happened , all there did was sit in a traffic jam stuck behind the the mums in the school run because little johnny can't walk my than two yards without his little feet hurting......This year how ever i know how often he has gone out and i think there got it spot on . have you noticed pretty much all the main routes are clear. This is because the salt(grit) was down on the road before the snow came and with the traffic moving on it helps clear it . What people forget is just putting salt down does not stop snow, ice settling. Salt lowers the freezing point and with traffic movement helps keep it clear. If you have a problem with roads near you call the local council and give them grief not the poor buggers who often been working out in it all day then have to go out maybe once or twice again sometimes in the early hours in the morning. Iam not to sure many off us would want to get out of bed at 2 in the morning to drive a gritting lorry in quite dangerous conditions with abuse being frown at us from drunks on there way home from the clubs. I know i wouldn't. So guys give them the thumbs up i am sure there would appreciate it.Rant over.....
