Ah yes Play Streets, where young Rooneys knock hell out of a ball to the annoyance of residents etc.
Ok, Local Authority under powers vested in them by S 29 Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1982, can make an Order prohibiting traffic on roads to be used as a playground by the kiddywinkles. As to what exactly is prohibited will be within the Order -limited access, no access, time involved etc. Person who use a vehicle in contravention of the Order commits an offence. Max 500 notes and 2 points.
Signed with a No Entry and plate declaring Play Street and times (Signs 617/618 TSGD 2002)
Having made an Order as above LA go on to make a Bylaw for use of roads as a Playground. Again what you can or cannot do will be in the BL. Penalty for infringement 500 notes no points S 237 Local Gov Act 1972(suspect this will only cover conduct of those on foot within.)
