TDV8 chip and sports exhaust.

Hello,

just bought a Sport 07 TDV8. My 04 Vogue I had chipped with TurboChips and achieved 36.6 mpg driving sensibly on long runs. Close to 29 most of the time.

Is it worth chipping a TDV8, I know I will get more power and torque but what will it do to the economy?. If I want to go fast I have an XKR!

I clearly like a V8 burble. Does a sports exhaust do very much more than sound nice?

Your thoughts please.

I'm with you... If you want fast, buy a fast car.

The TDV8 sport is pretty nippy already, so I'd keep it standard. Then, when the exhaust falls off, fit a sports one!!

It makes it noticably more responsive and seems to be more alive low down and pulls harder and longer.

I have always re-mapped the various diesels Range Rovers I have dealt with and have never had any issues with any of them.

In regards to the sports exhaust, it makes a BIG difference.

Try the usual suspects JE Engineering, DMS, Alive Tunning etc.

I think there are a few on RRSPORT.co.uk that have had some maps (AMD etc), the gains are very impressive but not heard much on the economy front. I am always concerned that it would threaten my warranty so I am happy with the TDV8 as standard.

Well I had a remap done and it is very fast, time will tell on economy though.

How is the economy working out, can't do better than 24mpg in mine mixed driving
