Ok, so I KNOW that PH tend to flip posts back on the OP, but today I have experienced two strange sights..

1. Landrover Discovery... With windows made of snow..

The first thing I did today was take all the snow off the windows, intakes, lights, virtually the entire car got de-snowed.

So when the Disco pulled up alongside me (Left lane to turn left), so bearing some concern for my panels I stayed still for a few seconds as it pulled forwards on the green, lo and behold he swung into my lane by about half a metre and went on his way. My concern was that as he did, it was apparent to me that EVERY window bar the windscreen was loaded from seal to seal with snow, so there must have been nil visibility side and rear. It amazes me that people can be so retarded to not clean off something that is used as much as windows and mirrors in day to day driving.

2. The Push Bike Impressionist

A young man, mid 20's riding a pushbike on the main road. What's strange about that you say? Well, he was doing a Michael J Fox impression whilst people walked faster than him on the pavement. So I'm at the head of a queue behind a bike riding impressionist going at about 1mph. He stops, still in the road, blocking progress (Traffic flow the other way was fairly slow) and shakes his head, before attempting to remount and continue. By now other motorists and myself have had enough laughing at this comical image playing out in front of our eyes, and even the people on the pavement have started laughing at his efforts, so I opened my window and politely suggested he get off and walk as everyone may get by faster. He looks at the relatively clear pavement, looks at the snow bound road, mumbles "Oh yeah, fair point" and then dismounts to the pavement........

The first point, outright dodgy and blatantly an accident causing mong with no concept of other road users whilst he's in him snow sided Landrover.. The second possibly the most obvious display of low IQ this country has seen...

it is quite comical here near derby too... mostly 17-20yo drivers (mostly in peugeots for some odd reason) who have evidently never driven in snow before revving the nuts off their FWD cars and not thinking it through.

I attempted to get the smart car (dont ask) to the supermarket and back, gave in very quickly and returned to watch TV. wasnt expecting the busy main road to be 1" deep compacted snow!! (it has 10BHP and traction control (for some reason) and relatively wide flat tyres at the rear (RWD))
hats off to the 2 people who helped me get moving again :-)
