just been out for a quick drive to clear out some cobwebs when one of the local boyracers came screeming up behind me in a honda civic type r with his mate and two young ladys in the back. he seemed to follow me for a couple of miles, so as i was getting board of his driving decided to see if he was any good at it. so took them down some quiet twisty lanes, he kept up (just), i didnt go to fast have had cerb long. Eventually came to a dualcarrageway so i floored it looked in my mirror only to see him diserpering into the distance with his freinds willing the car to go faster. I slowed down couple of miles up the road so they could catch up they lads gave me the thumbs up as the girls blow kisses
, think one of the girls wrote her phone number on her had but i couldnt read it properly, maybe i might bump into her soon.
i love my new car

These idiots are the bain of my life. They think that just because they got some halfords gift vouchers for their bday and read "max power" that their 1.3 16v i corsa is the quickest thing on 4 wheels. It may well be but iam sick of them tail gating me constantly in order to try and prove their point, If you want to overtake do it, I don't care, I have nothing to prove, but don't sit on my arse.
Jamesuk28, I think you should take the attention you get from the Maxpower brigade as a compliment (provided their not driving totally recklessly). They know that your Cerbera/Tuscan/Ferrari will blow them into the weeds, they're just trying to encourage you to put your foot down and show them just what your car can do - they're car enthusiasts like you and I. (just with much smaller budgets and err... rather dodgy taste when it comes to automotive styling).
Let's face it, if you saw a Maclaren F1 out on the road, even though you know you would'nt stand a cat in hells... would'nt you try and give the driver a little incentive to give it some stick?

agree with you totaly james, we have got loads of boy racers round here i think most know how quick the car is and dont bother but you always get the odd twat. Idont think it is worth killing somebody or points on my licence driveing like they do alone the sea front and through the town.

Too right. Have you ever stopped to have a chat to any of these guys? I have. Get past the chav/Burberry/Big-winged Saxo mentality and as often as not you are chatting to a bona-fide petrolhead - like us, they just enjoy driving/modifying/owning nice cars...nothing wrong with that.

Totally agree. They just want to see what a fast car can do. Used to get it all the time in the Cerb. Mike

on the other hand, I was on my way back from the Dunston Hall gathering on Tuesday night when a 'large' Merc saloon (one of the top of the range looking ones) full of a family 'accosted' me!!! I gave them a little bit of noise and left them standing, however they did give me a bit of a run for my money and when we went our separate ways, four massive cheesy grins from the whole family including the mum who waved and gave a really excited thumbs up....it did give me a nice warm feeling and realise that people really do love our cars and respect them
