Bought for £6k with 25k on the clock. Already love it! One thing I feel is missing is 6th gear, which is probably why the 2012 model is equiped with one. But its still mega fun on the motorway and b roads. Still to see and feel the difference with the ESP off.

Plans are to keep it completely standard for a year, build another years ncb. Then look into a milltek exhaust, maybe. For now its fast enough.
Just want to know what servicing and parts are like for these

I'm thinking of recommending one of these to my friend who currently has a Micra 1.0
He really wants a step-up and is eyeing-up Civic Type R's (EP3 shape) which I think will be a bit too much of a leap (especially being as they're quicker than my Celica 190
)
I think Swift is a good choice and it's still Japanese which is what he wants. His budget will be around £5k I reckon, but he's a cheapskate so will want to save wherever possible. I'm off to look at the classifieds now...

Having driven a Swift Sport for most of 2009, I can confirm they are excellent cars. Revvy little engine, great handling, just good fun.
However, my brother currently has a Civic Type R EP3 and it is leagues ahead of the Swift Sport in pretty much every respect, I'd advise your mate to look at Honda if I were you.

Yeah, iv been using momentum and have been getting just over 35mpg driving sensibly. But will getting v-power or tesco 99 once I fill up next time to see the difference.
. FWIW I've had mine for 4-5 months now and I've averaged 35.5mpg using 99/97RON fuel and driving sensibly for the most part. May aswell update this
Still running great, only things iv really needed to buy were 2 new front tyres (toyo proxes4) and front grooved discs and pagid pads.
Serviced with hks plugs and hks filter.
Iv fitted a hks filter, m7 radiator cap, oil catch tank and new headunit.
Some arse keyed my boot so had it resprayed, debadged and sprayed the s black. Not sure if i like it black or chrome :/

Fitted the Evo 8 wheels purely for the 8J fit which gives a more flush look, got them fairly cheap at £150 aswell Just need to get a chance to make up some more appropriate centre caps
