You may have flooded it. I have to start my car without touching the throttle for at least 20-30 seconds before I can rev. the engine. If you do flood it press throttle to the floor and turn engine over to dry it out.

Hope this helps.

When you say it fires. Does it actually run properly for a second or two and then die or is it just a bit of a cough and the engine doesnt catch properly.

Hi there, is the fuel pump still running when it stall and stops? Try again and listen. I had something similar when my fan fuse blew and I pulled the wrong fuse and somehow upset the immobiliser. The pump would run for a short while (engine started) then die. Had to switch engine off, check all the fuses. Found that there was a connection and fuse associated with the immobiliser circuit I had disturbed, allowed the engine to start but then shut it down. Once the poor connection was re-terminated problem went away.

It may not be the problem, but worth looking at? Regards, Pete

If you are sure you are getting fuel, pull a plug and check for a good strong spark.

I'm no mechanic but my old Griff had a similar issue and it was resolved by cranking on full throttle - seemed to blow away a few cobwebs and when warm take it for an 'Italian roadtest'

Paul.
