I'm thinking of trading in my Defender 90 for a Disco 3 Commercial. As per the title really, is it possible, has anyone basically turned a commercial in to standard vehicle? Be careful how you answer, you never know who might be looking in here!

Just in case, depending on the year make sure you never bring it into London, that's anywhere within the M25 as it may be subject to the LEZ and you'll have the devils own job getting it changed to a private car.

You will be fine with a Disco 3 as LEZ only effects pre 02 commercials

It's changing again in 2015 or 16, not sure what it will affect then though, possibly Euro 4s.

It's Euro 4 for HGVs and Euro 3 for vans and lighter vehicles at the moment. In 2015 or 16 it's going up to Euro 4 and 5 respectively.

I stand corrected!,is there any info regarding when its changing as I have googled and found nothing.I was thinking about fitting a filter to my Euro3 truck but at £5K its not worth it for a couple of years as I'm out side of the zone but used to get a few deliveries inside it.

Easy to put standard seats in the back the VAT man will want you to pay him the VAT if you have claimed it back and if you do get the V5 changed you will have to pay standard car tax £400ish

Converted a Freelander 2 Commercial back.

Rear bulkhead and extended load liner was straightforward to remove.

Sourced rear seats, window trims and seat belts. Cost £500.

Bolted seats to same fixing points as the bulkhead frame. No bodging needed, it all fitted perfectly like a jigsaw.

Renewed insurance with no change to cost, V5 also amended. You would not know the difference now.
