New York & Expedia - Advice
Discussion
Firstly, I tried a search but the search facility is borked...
Has anyone ever had any experience of booking a holiday through Expedia? My girlfriend and I are looking at going to New York in the summer and some of the deals on there are pretty good (Flights and hotel).
Not wanting to break any naming / shaming rules so PM me if you have any negatives that you don't want to share on here.
If anyone has any other helpful tips when it comes to booking, they'd be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

We've booked the Flight + Hotel combo on Expedia for trips to New York 5 times out of our 7 trips as that's been the cheapest way generally. No problems, they just book the elements as you would seperately so it's pretty straightforward. One little thing to remember is that a lot of flights are code share, so your booking might say KLM but it could be a Delta flight , if you're fussy about airlines keep an eye out for this (it does show you, you just need to keep an eye out for it)
We find it is best to play with days/times if you can, it can make a huge difference to the total cost. We've actually gone for longer than intended before because it was significantly cheaper than flying back on a specific day. Also remember to tick 'Direct flights only' if you don't want to change, it's often much cheaper to go via Holland or Germany but it does add quite a bit of time to the trip.
The best thing is that it's classed as a package when you book the 'Flight + Hotel' combo, so when for example our flight was cancelled when Heathrow shut Christmas 2010 we got every penny back without any hassle. It took a while, but considering had we booked seperately ourselves we would probably have lost some or all of our hotel cost, it turned out ok in the end.
