MOT Check on potential car purchase?

Afternoon fellow PHers.

Currently looking at replacing the family wagon and wanted to know if there is any way of checking the MOT history (for mileage) without the requirement of the V5 number or MOT Cert number, just the Registration?

Direct.gov will only give info with V5 or MOT Cert number...

Nope. And if a seller won't give you those details then perhaps they want to hide something.....

Appreciate that, it would just be quicker to chuck the Reg in to get an idea if the mileage is true, that's all.
