Choosing the right TVR

Choosing the Right TVR?
To me, owning a TVR is like dating a woman. I feel that I have to try many different models before I can finally settle down with one that I can fall in love with. So far, I have only owned four, each of which I have kept for a short time. Three have been Wedges and one has been a Chim and now I want to move onto a Tuscan. Though I’ve really enjoyed the ownership of all the TVR’s I’ve owned, they can probably best be described as lust rather than love. When the right one comes along, I shall cherish it and keep it forever. I shall love, honour and obey, and be faithful to it, but until then the search goes on. Do any other TVR owners feel the same? Maybe some of you have already found happiness. Here is my definition of finding happiness, be it a woman or a car:-
To love is to suffer
To avoid suffering
One must not love
But then, one suffers from not loving
Therefore, to love is to suffer
And not to love is to suffer
And to suffer is to suffer
To be happy, one must love
But to be happy then,
One must suffer
And suffering makes one unhappy
Therefore to be unhappy one must love
Or love to suffer
Or suffer from too much happiness
Or maybe I’m just going crazy!

Mmmm..Well mate i know you have got to be slightly mad to own a wedge but i think the loss of yours is turning you insane!!..It sounds like you are already suffering from de-wedgepression and if left un-treated you will give up the Elvis impersonating and take up hairdressing and varnishing finished jigsaw puzzles with country scenes on..
...A slight case of "Its now or never"..Now a metaphor lesson..."A wedge boot"..Could be something you get kicked with which may give you more lift because of its shape..."A tuscan trunk"..Sounds more like something to do with elephants..Your nickname will be "Tuscan Tony" instead of "Elvis Wedgeley"..I hope you make the right choice as your happiness, love and suffering all depend on it...Ziga

Very difficult decision to know which Tvr/which wedge is a keeper as its a lot to do with sound. The only thing is to alter the sound of the one you've got instead of changing the car , and its cheaper !
You could applythat theory to a woman too Steve................Jimbo
I'm sorry to be the grumpy old crusty bugger here.... BUT .....
I've always had a practical approach too....not just does it look nice, but what is it going to be like to fix, to maintain, how good is it on gas.... (Hmm, I guess there ARE still parallels with a partner...)
I'm taller than average (like 6' 6") and I've found that most of the later curvy styles simply don't fit me - they curve in too quickly at my shoulder level and feel cramped. Both the Chims and the Chimeara felt too small for me. (haven't tried a Griff)
The wedges are perfect, however, they are squarer on the windscreen and so feel larger to me, and are comfortable. BUT I WANT A V8 !!

So using your logic, I've had an S2, Griff, Cerb, 400se and now the pseudo 500 wedge, so S2 was fairly new, we'll say a earlier 30's lass, Griff a mid 20's lass, Cerb a nubile 18 year old (High maintenance one) and 2 x wedges, guess the wedges are milfs or cougars with the 500 having a bit of botox
Maybe slightly older, not too firm but boy they make the right noise and they know how to make a man feel - enough said

Well ive always yearned after TVRs since my friend took me out in a griff years ago and up until last year i really fancied an SC1-2 or a Chimaera..Until i saw the wedge...And only now i know i chose the right car..Yes its a frigging nightmare sometimes but i dont think i could love another TVR in the same way..Enjoy maybe but not love..I know i have been lusting after a V8 but in all honesty i would find it really hard to part with delilah especially as she is having some major surgery later this year..If she was a woman and had a complex regarding her small breasts then fear not my darling you wont be able to see your shoes this time next year!!..

Zig. You are spoiling Delilah to the extent that you give her whatever she may desire. It seems to me that you will never part with her. It must be true love, and you must be one of very few TVR owners that has found true and everlasting love. For you, the search for the right TVR may well be over. I wish you both happiness and perhaps one day I'll sing for you at your wedding. How about 'Wear My Ring Around Your Neck' Ahaha.

Thanks Tony..Thats a very kind gesture and if we were to tie the knot then i would have it at a BBWF so all her wedge friends could be there..There is probably a plethora of songs by the king that could be sung to relate to the love or the future of me and delilah but im not sure about "Wearing rings"..This earnt me the cane when i was at school after being caught frolicking around in the grass with a girl from my form room..I was wearing her ring...
..Besides if delilah was a woman it would be a matter of me spoiling her in return for her spoiling me.."Nudge nudge wink wink"..Id buy her a lovely cooker..A gorgeous hoover..A fantastic washing machine..Not to mention a wonderful iron..What more could a woman need??...Ziga
