4.2 owners interested?

Hi to all 4.2 owners, this is as i am currently in the process of getting some throttle return springs made properly(bent to shape)by a supplier. Not any of the specialists can provide them now(only Lh for 4.5 owners) They get weak and as i found out don't snap back sometimes like they should, so i was experiencing the throttle sticking sometimes on gearchanges or in traffic. It is the springs for definate, also i have heard they can snap! If anyone is interested let me know. I'm not sure how much they will be, but i am sending one off to be copied. I know you can bodge the LH wound ones from a 4.5, but why when you can do it properly? Joe

Hi Paul, i know i have to pay a minimum order charge of £25 plus they said they didn't really know but i'm sending it up tomorrow. Hope to know by friday so watch this space! 2x from TVR power with postage cost me £16.81! They were only for a 4.5 and not shaped. I'd say around £10 for both with postage

I fitted a supplementary 'safety' spring that acted independently on the throttle linkage for peace of mind when I first got the car but a spare set of properly fitting ones would be good!

I know the current wire size is 1.36mm, i was speaking about upping this to 1.4mm (next size up) for a tiny bit more spring to avoid this weakening of spring in the return. This will also fit in the split hole that holds it in place. I am looking into this and will be speaking to the engineer about the differences. I want it to feel the same, maybe it could benefit from being fractionally stronger.
