The V10s never went that loud but they did hit 140dB.

Oh and this is a 2004 V10, which produced around 900BHP so they're being more than a bit conservative on that figure

Direct injection is banned for the current engines but will come in with the 2014 1.6 V6 Turbos.

At higher stack velocities you get better fuel atomisation the further out that the injectors are located.

I can only assume the force suction into the intake is so high that 100% of the mixture is drawn into the cylinder with basically zero risk of any reaching the exhaust manifold for combustion to be a risk???
