pit lane speed limiter

Apart from your right foot, does anyone have a pit lane speed limiter switch in their car, the likes of which they would be willing to share the details of with me please.I have concidered and talked to omex about their launch control 2 stage rev limiter but that apparently will not be suitable due to melt down if you run up against it constantly.Any help ?

not sure how any other system would not have the same problem, not sure why cutting the spark to rev-limit would cause a melt down.

The only other way I could see you having a working speed limiter is if you have a fly by wire throttle.

I have a pit lane limiter - one of the functions of my Motec ECU. Like most systems it works by cutting the ignition.

get a cheap cycle computer from halfords or ebay and stick it to your dash? then just use the speed readout to make sure you stay under the relevant pit lane speed limit?

A)having carbs on my Rover Tuscan means that the fuel is still been pumped even if you cut the spark.

B) My other Tuscan has a fly by wire throttle whats your idea ?

I will be upgrading the engine management during the season to Emerald so will have that facility once i swop over from GM and is possible as it,s injected,but i still need to find an answer for the Carbruetta,s

Hi not a bad idea.I do already have a speedo on the car as it is a road registered Tuscan which i take to Sainsburys every sunday and a requirement for the MOT.Not been funny but it,s not an easy thing to keep your eye on the speedo and the other two watching for my pit box,mechanic,s,Monster energy pit girls and general drift wood in the pit lane,hence why i would like a more positive solution.

If it's fly by wire, then the throttle peddle with control a variable resister (POT), connect this a logger so you know the resistance at the speed you want then you can just use a switch to switch this peddle POT to a fix value resister.

other option would be to program the ECU to light a big fk off light or buzzer when your over the speed limit, connected with a inl-ine switch to turn it on/off

I would suggest you set the warning light just below the pit speed limit otherwise all the big fk off light or buzzer will tell you is you'll soon be back in for a drive thru!!
