THE PERFECT CAMCORDER TO STRAP TO AN ATOM
Discussion
I'm going to buy a camcorder almost exclusively to use with the pro mount on my Ariel Atom and I need to call upon the collected wisdom of the mighty PH'ers.
Ideally:
Mini DV (top loading)
Excellent image stabilising
Not too expensive (in case it gets hit by gravel) - probably around £500-£700? (less would be nice!)
Any suggestions (with reasons why, please)?
Also, anything else I should be looking for in a spec list?
Thanks!

I used a bullet cam for the first time recently out in the Isle of man, simply gaffer taping it in various places around the car gave great footage that you couldnt achieve with a camcorder on its own. Sound quality wasnt to bad either using the supplied mic that came with the kit
I applied a clear low tack vinyl on to the paintwork first so the gaffer tape adhesive wouldn't adhere to the paint

Just thought I'd throw this 2 mb vid into the thread, taken from the bullet cam (not me driving at 130 in 6th on the grass I have to add).

I got the bullet from www.rfconcepts.co.uk
They are also good at telling you whether your video camera has the right connection.
This is where I generally fitted mine on the Caterham (the windscreen washer hole!), with the camera in a camera bag in the footwell.

OK - I'm convinced - a bullet cam it is then. Now I have to find somewhere to strap the camcorder that won't shake it to bits
One of the best places is your body! When I was fit and did downhill mountain biking I did the odd video. I took the attitude that if I could take it, the cam could! Was a pain in the arse when crashing however (literally).
