Best car under 4 cylinders

More pistons is better anyway what is the best car with less then 4 cylinders but more then 1 just to stop the wankle fans

I'll put down the charade GTti down as an early leader but i am sure there is some pre-war oddball with bucket sized pistons that i would also love.

Fiat 500 (the original), Fiat 126, some Corsa's but they were st. I found that most cars with an austin A series engine, especially the original Mini never ran on a full compliment of cyclinders during wet weather.

I'll probably get slated for this but IMO the skoda Fabia 1.4 TDI 3 cylinder is a great engine... No - Really!
The 3 cylinder warble gives the normally anodyne engine note a dash of character, it's an eager little thing too and revs freely and pulls well, perfectly suiting the car it's in. To cap it all it really is incredibly frugal, actually returning 60-65Mpg.

I liked ours, anyway!
