Where would your £75K (ish) go?

After a great couple of years with my R8 I sold it 18 months ago as I was renting a place with no garage.

Now that I have garage again I'm ready to get something fun.

I have another car for shopping etc but I do like to use my cars as daily drivers as much as feasible as I want to get maximum use from them where possible. I only need 2 seats (but would consider 4) and do like a bit of luxury with my performance as I'd like to take the car on some European trips (so great reliability also important)

So what should I be looking at? Cars that spring to mind are F430, Meserati GT, R8 Spyder, Aston Vanatage, 911. Am I missing something else that I should add to the mix. Wondered if a Panamera for a year might be a left field idea. Really stuck on this.

I have my name down on a Jaguar CX-16 for end this year/early 2013 (or whenever it launches) so am mindful of the fact that should I go that route I do not want something now that I'd completely lose my shirt on over 12 months.

How about this Aston Martin DBS

They seem to be just about dropping into your budget (ish) and would also offer the Luxury/GT credentials you are looking for better than your other suggestions IMO (other than the Panamera perhaps, but they really are painfully ugly to my eyes).

DBS definitely in contention. I need to go test one of those and a Vantage.

I should have added that am also happy to send much less than £75K if there is a car I'm overlooking. I was thinking along the lines of an M3 but as I'm currently in a 3 series that's a no go for me.

Very nice position to be in

The DBS has been my favourite car for a while so that would definitely be top of my list to look at / drive.

However, there are so many other choices depending on your own preferences:
BMW M6
M-B CLS AMG
Maserati - take your pick of the models.
Ferrari F430, 575 etc
Bentley Continental GT(C)
or even something "classic"?

Let us know what happens and what you get in the end AND when you get the new Jag

Gallardo's seem to be holding their value/increasing in value? Similarly, but under budget, the Sagaris' seem to be a money maker.

Minimal depreciation plus maximum fun (in my eyes at least)

As for the evora idea if buying new wouldn't you lose a houses worth of money in depreciation? Same really goes for a dbs as imo still have a fair way to fall.

A very bad idea. Depreciate like a stone, not luxurious and not really suited to the OP's needs IMO.

If you're looking at spending less then how about a CLS/SL63 AMG? Although for < 50K i do think the Maserati GT is hard to beat. Preferable to a Vantage for me anyway.

Maybe a 997 Turbo?

What about the new Morgan Plus 8. Down side will be initial depreciation but I'm told this is not bad on Morgans. Plus 8 will be a Ltd Edition (450) so will retain more value than most.
