hi all im putting this on here for a friend who has a e60 m5 v10.
hes had the car not far off 12 months now but it seems like its in the garage more than on the road. the car has done nearly 60k has full dealer history. since having the car hes had to have a full clutch fitted. pollon filter. full fuel rail on one side after it jammed open on the motorway. (mind you he did laugh at that as he said it looked like he had lit the after burner). cause of this the whole rear bummper had to be repainted. and yesterday the light on the dash came on again, and now its saying 1 of the cats is on its way out.
my mate is 62 years old and he loves the car but he is loosing faith in this now as it seems every month somthing goes wrong with it.
he know these are highly strung cars (hes had high performance cars for years)
are they all like this? or has he bought a friday afternoon car lol?

cheers andy

Such a shame as they look great cars. Maybe just very very unlucky, but it would put me off too.

That doesn't really read like a disaster, the clutches are a given on those, the pollen filter are servicable items, OK, so fuel rail and now CAT/Lambda sensor..........

How long has the had the car how many miles on it?

Does he have a BMW insured warranty? If not he may want to get himself one before the car hits 60K and pay for it on the monthly rolling agreement.

if the fuel rail was stuck open it was probably dumping copious amounts of fuel into the cat which has buggered it also. I bet the cat is on the same banks as the fuel rail issue...

Bank 1 is the one with the oil filler cap on the rocker cover, so Bank 2 is on the right as you look at the engine.
