Cold starting problems Mercedes 190

The motor fires on turnover, good spark,tends to make me think that it is the wiring or sensor to the choke injector.
Does anyone have information on the readings i should get with a meter for the sensor.
With persistance the vehicle starts and runs like a dream once it has warmed up.
Any advice would be helpful.
