More petrol cars info please

Am I the only one who finds it a wee frustrating that the car mags ignore petrol engined variants of family cars? Now I know diesel accounts for the majority of sales with family cars these days, but it the olden days Autocar and the like used to test lots of variants of "normal" cars... and , well, it would nice to have some professional driving opinions and proper speed and economy stats.... I.e. The new shape 160 PS Ford Mondeo 1.6 ecoboost. Ticks most of the boxes for me as a potential private buyer (once the thing is at least a year or two old), who doesnt do masses of miles and prefers petrol, but I cant find any decent reports on it. Ditto Focus Estate ecoboost and any new shape TSI VAG car, bar the sporty models.....
