My missus just got an insurance quote for a 172 clio as a second car after having a 1.2 for a year i said don't bother the quote would be nuts! anyways i filled in her details driving for 1 year 1 years ncb 21 came back £1100!! i have been driving 5 years 2 years ncb no accidents i can't even get it that cheap no pics!

Im not trying to be funny mate but any bloke that wants to own a clio 172 is the kind of chap that IS GOING TO DRIVE IT LIKE A TOTAL NOB!The insurance companies know this aswell as everybody else and that reflects in your premium.

I thought the EU ruling on gender discrimination came in on the 1st of January? I just renewed the insurance on the wife's car and I'm pretty sure they didn't ask about gender.

Will start applying to insurance premiums from the end of this year. Fellas should see their insurance costs go down a little, ladies should see their's go up - quite a bit. But for the time being, gender based rating is still effective.

Very true especially when I read a quote recently mentioned that guys in the UK under 25 spend more on 'cosmetics' than any other european country (including Italians)so the gender issue is debatable these days

didn't say anything was her fault just got the hump that she's younger and been driving 4 years less than me and gets cheaper insurance!
