Having just made the move from a tuned MR2 turbo to a 350Z running roughly the same power, the V6 engine sounds and feels much better than a smaller turbocharged engine!

What do most people prefer in there sports cars, turbo or sporty V6, 8, 10 etc.......

Normally aspirated, peaky as fk and with a throttle response sharper than a page of Oscar Wilde witticisms that have been rolled up into a point, sprinkled with lemon juice and jabbed into someones eye.

Propper sports cars are n/a. Ideally around 100bhp per liter.

I'd go for:

High specific output NA > large capacity low specific output NA = supercharger > slow > turbo

Done right, both have their own unique characteristics and both are fun.

But since I'm a total sound we, I'd give the nudge to N/A if I had to.

In an F40 I'd opt for a small turbo V8 whereas in a GT3 RS I'd go for a larger capacity naturally aspirated six

Both in separate cars please!

Love the linear power delivery of a good n/a, but there is nothing like a turbo for that real push in the back / starfield blurring / hyperspace effect.

Also, in the real world turbos are brilliant for efficient overtaking.

I've got from 2.0 Turbo 4WD, to 2.5 Straight 6 RWD, to 2.3 Turbo 4WD and now I am heading back to 2.8 Straight 6 RWD
