I have the 96T warrantied through these guys. However I have not made a claim which of course is the real test.

I have to say the policy seems good value considering options such as labour rates at up to £200 per hour etc. But like I say, its only value if they pay up when needs be

I had a policy with them on my Boxster. They carried out an inspection before the cover started.

They paid out a couple of months later on some suspension part (about £500 I think).

They wouldn't pay on the leaking radiator though, as this had been highlighted during the inspection. Seemed fair to me.

May pay you to do a search as a few on here have had less than satisfactory experiences.

I have no experience of claiming with them but anything with a pre-warranty inspection sounds like a good idea - they can manage their risk and likewise in the event of a claim you have proof that it wasn't at fault when they accepted the risk, giving them a lot less wiggle room.

I used them. Just specifically check what you want covered. I used it on a BMW 5 Series, and it (as it tuns out) did not cover the iDrive, which controls most things on the car. Apart from that, they were OK and paid up on other claims - but they will not bend on anything which is not detailed in the contract - despite the fact that I had the most comprehensive cover they sell.

After reading some of the reports on the Internet I've decided not to use them.
Thanks for the replies.

Interesting - I use them for a Merc and one of the things I was anxious about was it would cover the COMAND unit, which can just stop working and costs £3K, and they confirmed it would. They regard it as ICE and it's an option but they included it anyway. That's a tip - get an online quote, leave it for a couple of days and they'll call and do almost anything to get you to sign up. I got all the optional covers, zero excess and the wear & tear waiting period waived.

You do see a fair amount of negative comment but it's hard to weigh it up as obviously most people won't bother to post positive things. I've never claimed* so that side things of things is untested. If you read some of the negative comments many people fail to understand that it's an insurance policy and there has to be a definite and clear failure before they'll pay out. I regard it a backstop for a big failure.

*I did buy an extended warranty on a new Renault a few years ago and turned out that was with WD. The deal was they would refund the cost if no claims were made. Amazingly (for a Renault) we didn't claim, and they did refund.
