seems to be. No mobile phones, etc. Its a reality TV program. Not really sure why they label it as girls going up against the lads, as there aren't any lads in the series! If they wanted to do that, they'd have to have 10 chaps, and 10 lasses, and see who comes out on top... Reality, made for TV, femenist tripe really. Would rather just see the racing really...

I have been saying for sometime that this competition is a farce! I have known about the "Trackdayqueen" for some time. There are others in the final 50 because they have a business connection with Glew. Amy Chambers was stitched up for the cameras and so was Katherine Legge. Tim Harvey has lost what little cred he had.
The one that is a bloke also worked for bookatrack...
AND they didn't even have a race!!! Looks like they are going to ooooze as many episodes out as possible!
Its trying to be racing Rivals, which was a programme i didn't mind. In fact i thought it was pretty good. FW though, seems a bit "Big I'm a survivor, get me off this temptation island.

what the hell, was that prog supposed to be a comedy? I was laughing anyway, especially when the woman instructor got chucked out! I just dont get it these women are crying and getting hysterical when they put together a vaguely good lap did dont often see men crying when they win championships. Fun all the same but what was with that bit at the end at Silverstone when they were supposed to be getting the liscense it showed a few spins, now when I took my test i was assured that if i lost control of the car I would fail, surely the ARDS test should have been done early on in the elimination process?
With all the cynical comments it really is a wonder why there aren’t more women racing drivers.
Yes the series was made for TV, but hello, they have to pay for everything somehow!

Judging by the current driving standards in the BTCC, they'll fit right in!
Here's an idea for ITV, hows about "Formula Bad Lads", a one make series of Lax Power Novas, where all the drivers must have had prior convictions for dangerous driving?

Sorry, just had to push Ace-T out of her seat to answer this. Agreed there's a lot of cynicism, and chaps can be very predictable (fulfilling the stereotype) about their attitude to women. But read on before you flame me..
If we were going to think about fulfilling negative stereotypes, what the
was all the crying and tears and 'it's not fair' business about? Some of those girls didn't do themselves many favours. In fact they did non of us any favours. Poor Judas was almost deafened by roars of derision and streams of anglo-saxon invective from me and Ace when those stupid women were whingeing at the cameras! Frankly, if they can't handle constructive criticism (and I didn't really think that 'your gear changes need to be smoother' was harsh) then they don't need to be anywhere near competitive sport. If you want to compete with men, you have to have an attitude to suit, and I'm afraid that affects other areas of your life - being tough and focused isn't always comfortable when some people would rather you were unchallenging. Tough luck girls, you can't be both. If you want to compete, you have to take the feedback, however that might manifest itself.
I think the negative comment stem from the fact that the formula is for women only. That in itelf is not a poblem, but then to go and say its beating the men at their own game its a load of bull. Enter the women into the seat cupra cup, or formula ford, or something? Saying that, a lot of these guys have been racing karts, etc, and deserve their place. maybe they should be centreing on getting young girls into karting, and start at the grass roots, rather than a series based on a reality tv show. The program is not based on getting women into motorsport, and will not get any of the drivers into the upper echelons of driving series. It is a serious issue, and I don't think anyone has a problem with women in motorsport, bit this TV show sort of trivialises it. Might still be a giggle to watch, anyway.
The him/her called lauren is an IMOC regular, and does more trackdays than mst, and works for Bookatrack, although it said she was a social worker on the programme. Is that an advantage, as the girl with msa license was?

I don’t think the director did the contestants any favours.
Emotions would have run high, and I am sure that having the opportunity to fulfil a dream and then have it taken away from you would cause many blokes to get frustrated. Tantrums and tiaras aren’t reserved for women (I would like to point out I wouldn’t have welled up!!!)
When out on track I am quite self critical, I do take criticism well but that depends on how constructively it is related. Being told that was crap, isn’t very helpful.
They are many rounds into the racing now, and hopefully the contestants are maturing. The whole thing is probably very alien to 99% of women, so I think to get as far as they have is great.
When I ran the track days, we had about 2 girls come along and play with the boys. That to me was appalling, but most are pushed away by the macho image portrayed by all that go

Rude Girl - who ever you and your mates are........ if I read your post with the correct intent....all this "ts not fair crap"is completely justified in my case, I didnt hold a licence for 3 years and try and hide it as Tim Harvey claimed. I held it for 1 year in 1997 and never used it, my partner renewed it for me hoping that an opportunity may arise but I got pregnant! women hey!! so that was the end of that until FW came along, I declared the situation in my application which sat in their files for 10 months, they bought me through to the final 50 for this dramatic TV fodder - so no I dont think this was fair do you?
