Autoglym seat cleaner and conditioner any good?
Discussion
My M3 is coming up to her first birthday and I have never used anything other than a damp cloth to clean the leather seats, they are still in great condition but I would like to use a proper product on them now. Saw the Autoglym stuff in halfrauds the other day - is this stuff any good?
+1 for LTT products, or alternatively Furniture Clinic and Dr Leather are very good.
Avoid traditional cleaners and conditioners on modern leather. The conditioners can't penetrate the top coatings, so just sit on the surface attracting more dirt. Even Gliptone, whilst great for older leather, contains glycerine in the cleaner which does nothing to soften the hide if it can't get past the lacquer. Imagine pouring neat glycerine over your seats - you wouldn't do it.
Once cleaned, protect them with either the LTT or FC protection coatings.

Autoglym seat cleaner is great for fabric seats - a friend gave his car interior a clean inside with the seat cleaner and dash cleaner they do, one a day for 3 days and took a manky, family-marked Impreza back to a near brand-new look. When the weather gets better I'll be doing my Civic Type R the same. However, I wouldn't use their seat cleaner on leather seats, it's only meant for fabric and alcantara iirc.

No you wouldn't, and what a silly thing to say.I wouldn't know what percentage of glycerine (if any) is contained in a bottle of Gliptone, but I hardly think you could compare it to pouring neat glycerine over your seats, be fair .
The one I saw was autoglym leather seat cleaner!?
