Dead java?

Had a bizarre failure on my PC the other day - but it came back to life but a lot of registry stuff seems to have disappeared - e.g. I had to reload the graphics card drivers.

Now bizarre stuff is happening:

1. No java script seems to work in IE
2. The windows "Find Files" function just comes up with a blank screen - no buttons etc.
3. Lots of bits of websites are missing - e.g. on PH there is no banner advertising, on Dell.com even the Dell logo doesn't show up.

Tried going to Windows Update but even this fails to load.

Any ideas IT chaps????

Fixed it all by re-registering jscript.dll and vbscript.dll - must have severly ed my registry somehow...
