Sadly, she's had to turn it down as the whilst she passed the employer's various tests, they didn't pass her test.

Exceedingly vague T&Cs, no job description until after the offer was made. The job changed from interview to offer.

All this for a job as an NVQ Assessor!! biggrin

But some of the advice given in this forum was useful, so many thanks.

It's on the main, boosted her confidence that she can get through the entire process to a positive offer.

Yes, she's disappointed (but also relieved at the same time, as her "spidey-sense" tingled throughout the process!)

So if anybody hears of NVQ Assessors roles in Health & Social Care, ideally in Herefordshire and the neighbouring counties, please feel free to drop me an email.

We're still looking as it goes to show that even in these hostile conditions, there are jobs out there, AND the right job is also out there.

Dan :-)

As an NVQ Assessor I would have thought that poor admin on behalf of the employer was low risk? Despite any spidey senses going off, I would have taken the offer, if nothing else to get back in to the market, earn, and gain valuable experience whilst looking for the next opportunity. Sometimes even Peter Parker got it wrong! Good luck though.

True, but the bigger issue was that the role was advertised differently than in real terms. The T&Cs were so vague. Wanted her to work form an office when told it would be working from home and organising her own diary. No setup resources at all. No mobile or laptop (tools of the trade). They then threatened her with an ultamatum on accepting the job, despite (a) not sending the paperwork out until the last minute (giving her no time to investigate further) and (b) knowing the notice period required for her current role.

Don't think she wants to be involved with a company who works this way.

Of course I see her point; I would however reflect that the NVQ industry is not a high rolling one, so many organisations involved my not have the resources to hire the very best in leaders, managers or HR departments, so some expectation management may be in order.

LOL - very subtle way of putting it!!!!biggrin

Of course, she's got her expectations of what the employer should be like but will definitely take that into consideration for future opportunities, but this lot just didn't seem "right".
