Long time lurker...but now want to join the noble fold so, here i am asking for guidance:
Disclaimer first: enlish is not my first language, so i hope the grammar police will be understanding.

I've had a few 'sport' cars over the last few years 996 c/Vx220 turbo/boxster s/z4 coupe. Enjoyed them all, but Found the majority not 'raw' enough. I can now afford a work car and want something special just to drive and do as many track days as i can.
Searched through the calssified and decided that there are not really many choices so Noble will be.

I've been today to see a gto3 to a dealer in suffolk and while it was good to confirm the feelings about the car, that specific one seemed to have been slightly neglected (happy to be corrected if not):
Toe links rusted to the point that will make unbolting REALLY difficult. One new dumper, and 3 rusty one. Water all inside the the window and windscreen. That made thing that same could have happened with maintenance. And a very off-ish sales man.

Question is, where would you start looking? Is it worth going to dealers or bettter to keep it in the family and contact forum members (believe a couple of you are selling)? Gto3 or 3r...or a well sorted gto?
I can spend up to 28k but happy to save if i can.

Or is anyone who would suggest something else (despite me having made my mind up smile )

Thanks/luca

My only comment is that if you want to do lots of track days then A: it must have a TDS but be prepared for a few bills if tracked a lot. Things wear quicker when track driving.

If you find one that's had lots of the mods done then you will be better off. They tempt you to modify them not just for speed but preventative mods like cooling etc

Thanks olly, it looks great. This weekend is a bit busy, but i might call you in the week for next sat or sunday if you can?

Thanks Bondy, i'll look for car with LSD. I'm ready for the track related costs. However, to be fair, i think i'm much faster than what i actually am. So the car might not have a very hard life after all smile

I spotted Simon car as well but not sure how much of a difference there is for an average driver betweena a 2.5 and a 3...

Thinking of a stock 3R with TDS and a 6-speeder) why so Martin?

Thanks Tux, i will get in contact with jetstream during the week.
I guess my problem is that i don't really know what i 'need' confusedconfused so thought it was easy to try and find out how a well sorted car should be.

Thanks again Tux, guess i'll be busy calling everybody next week. I rather have a car from a forum member, always easier to check the history. Did the same with the vx.

To wirestriker:yep, i'm italian, but been living in the uk for a while and the car will be for use here. Yours look good, i'm just not sure about the import process , transport etc. but i shoukd be coming in your area over the next 2 weeks, could pop in and take a look.

I only say it with relation to tracking, engine bays get hot and oil etc so if Somone is to do lots of track days (not just 3-4 a year) then it would be safer for engine to have coolers etc. When I say one with lots of mods I was also referring to finding one that's had all the track work but that will be a slightly more expensive option. (if Somone was to sell).

VX 220 with twice the power... thats pretty much what the Noble feels like.

Has a lot more high speed grip than the VX as well... I had a Yellow lightning one and drove a few turbo versions, loved em but they lacked power imho smile
