Tried fitting new disks and pads to my car today. Pads seem to be too big and will not fit. They are 14.4mm thick. Does anybody know if this size should fit the standard v-spec or is it a case that my callipers have been changed?
Any advice would be welcome smile

Are they the same shape as the old ones? If so they should fit, have you pushed the piston right back?

Front or rear? If rear, have you wound the pistons back correctly using an allen-key?

I'll update this for her.

It is the front pads that she is on about. She says that the pistons were wound right back, but that the new pads just don't quite fit in.

They are the same shape as the old ones. She's also having the front disc rotors changed. They're same thickness etc.. as the original items that she has taken off. It's just the pads they seem to be having trouble with.

These are the one's that she is trying to have fitted.. As you can see, they're 14.4mm thick. The site appears to be the same site as Euro Car Parts .com

Her callipers are red, don't know if this is standard issue or an after market upgrade?

Strange as I have those pads that I bought from Eurocarparts and they fitted fine once I had pushed the pistons right back. Perhaps a photo of the brakes in question would help.

I'll see if I can get a photo. I just think they need to have another go. I haven't personally seen the situation, so I can't comment first hand on it.

Sounds like the piston isn't right back to me. Especially if there's new discs as well the piston will need to be pushed right back until it stops.

Or possibly the callipers aren't moving freely on the slide-pins. Remove the callipers and make sure the slide-pins are clean & rust free then make sure they are greased up so they slide cleanly.
