Is it a slow time of year to be selling a car?

I'm selling my 07 330i and just feels like it has dragged on for a while! I know there isn't an issue with the price and advert just seems that big petrols aren't in demand I guess.

Anyone else selling a "big" petrol car currently?

No it is not a good time of year but unfortunately your model of car makes the situation far worse. A 3l petrol 3 series which is out of warranty is not going to appeal to many.

It comes with the BMW extended warranty.

But yes I guess its getting on the nichey side of things,

The irony being that it is one of the nicest versions to drive - without wanting to ignite a petrol vs diesel debate!

I guess that people are less interested in big engined petrols.

I was looking at a car to replace mine later this year/next year, and the big engined petrol executive models are actually going for less or the same price.

Sold my Range Rover in 12 hours...my advice..describe it accurately, price it sensibly and pay £150 - 200 for a good detailer to come around and bring it back to showroom shine. It'll save you being haggled down later. Most of all, remain pleasant and polite.

Sold our 'family heirloom' ageing C200 equally fast, but got some hilarious email 'enquiries' from Nigeria. These were answered with hilarity of equal measure.

I've just sold a 2007 130i (which also had an extended BMW warranty). Sold it to the first viewer, the problem was the first viewer took 4 months to appear.

Ended up getting a little less than I would have liked for it too. I turned down a trade bid in October from Birds which was a touch more than I ended getting for it a couple of weeks ago. Hindsight eh?

You might want to try Birds, it is certainly the sort of car they might be interested in and their offers are not unreasonable. A number of 130i owners have ended up selling to them recently.

Yeah, my car is for sale and I'm not having much interest either. Will MOT it next month and hope that is the reason people aren't biting.

I've just bought a 330i and noticed a couple of things about the Market. Dealers are undercutting book prices by quite a lot, even some main dealers. If you have any after Market mods forget it. Seen a couple with black grills and non oem rear lights. Wouldn't even look at them. You probably need to knock 15% or more off what you really think it's worth

I started off with just listing on PH as I really wanted the car to go to a PHer. Especially a frequent one, so much less chance of being messed around and it's nice to straightaway to have some confidence in the buyer and not having to watch him like a hawk as he touches your car!

Then I resorted to the likes of Autotrader and eBay

It will sell and I believe it is priced about right but I am afraid it is a waiting game.

My worry isn't that it won't sell. I guess I'm just really impatient and like things to move as quickly as possible!

Slightly O/T but I've been looking at 130is for a while. The only one I've seen drop in price is one that was overpriced to start with - an auto with 100k miles at 10k, now listed for 9k (via 9.5k two weeks ago). I've been watching and waiting since October and whilst prices are starting to come down a little, I haven't seen the kind of drop I would have expected for a 3 litre petrol these days; certainly the LCI cars seems to be maintaining value. Only my interpretation, however. (If you don't mind asking, what made you sell the 130i?)

EDIT: OP, PM please if you want, I have been looking at 330is too...
