Hey guys,

Looking to get my ST's wheels refurbed and changed in colour, anyone know someone good in the glasgow area (cumbernauld)?

Ideally would prefer a mobile service that could complete work within a day if possible as I don't have another set of wheels.

Cheers,

G

This guy is the man http://www.the-polisher.com/

Did these for me a couple of years ago

He did an amazing job, as you can see.

These were the guys that did mine a few months ago -- 4x 17" strip, blast and coat in anthracite.

The blurb says they do same day turnaround. Give 'em a call thumbup

The wheel specialist, who know they are overpriced....

I'm sure their work is good, but they started at £360 which was far too expensive (17's x 4 strip powdercoat and finish, tyres off and back on)

Then came back agreeing that their prices were high and dropped it to £300????

We have used a few different companies and found pros & cons with all of them tbh. We use the wheel specialist (they do same day) but we prefer to balance wheels & check tyre pressures ourselves. Generally we take our customers' car in to them & collect it so we can do that.

Correct Baz, I haven't bonded with the colour change yet but Mike the Polisher did a great job. He only does powdercoat or polishing.

the GT3 split rims on my 996 are currently away being refurbed by Exel Wheels who came highly recommended on the Porsche section on here. I was quoted £600 including the costs of having them couriered down to England. They are not due back until next monday so i will add my thoughts on the quality when i get them back.

I was previously quoted £425 quite a while ago by the Wheel Specialist in East Kilbride but at the time i didn't have the garage space to leave my car on stands for the 2-3 days it would take.

For split rims and diamond cutting we generally send wheels away. We sometimes have loan wheels depending on the make/model/year of car. Gordon has a Boxster and had his wheels done not too long ago, I think the cost was about £360 (18') (but we split the rims, it costs more if they do it).

Again I've found pros and cons having split rims done locally.....I think it's worth paying a little bit more for perfection wink

Split rims are a whole other ballpark, though.

I got my four alloys completed for £265 all in.

Dropped car off on a Saturday and went back for 8am Monday.

Another vote for Mike. He refurbed my uncles Mustang wheels and attention to detail was superb!
