Has anyone ever used these folks? I need to book a first service and whilst enquiring around, someone suggested trying here.

Seems a £340 service can be had for £220/

I know this is PH and people can get a dealer to half their asking price just by rubbing their powerfully built goatee, but I've only started trying to get an idea of cost today and I'd been assuming that I'd be looking at £250-280 or so.

The £221 is at Stratstone at Nottingham. I will see what the supplying dealer comes back with but £221 isn't to be sniffed at IMO.

I think they're discontinuing it in 2015 so be quick

I have emailed a stload of dealers - I know they don't like email but I'm stupid and keep remembering on the way into work, and on the way back from work, but never when the dealer service departments are open.

The site in my OP don't seem to have many dealers signed up as a couple of my nearest dealers are down as Bury and Bristol but Nottingham is near enough, and it's a handy negotiating point to have with the more local dealers - no point saying "Can you match £220?" if, if they say no, you can't get it done for £220...

Yes, the services quoted on our website (excluding the ‘Value’ services) are full manufacturer spec services and prices include parts, labour and VAT.

The 1st service on your Freelander isn’t an all day affair. However, I’m afraid I can’t give you and exact duration.

When you book the service via our website the dealer will call you directly to make the final arrangements after the booking has gone through. Stratstone Nottingham are normally happy to provide a lift into town.
This is something you can work out directly with them.

I hope this answers your questions and if you have any more please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Got to laugh. Emails sent to six main dealers yesterday, all simply asking the price of a first service on the exact year and model of my FL2.

One day later and 2 phone calls and one email reply so 50% hit rate.

I don't know whether to be impressed that 50% of dealers bothered to read the email or that 50% don't seem to need business.

The price variation is the scary part. £360, £370 and £316 so far.
