What music gets you 'in the zone'
Discussion
This week I'm training on my own for a few sessions and I want to hit it hard as I'm at the point where I will struggle with lifts and really be pushing myself.
I need a soundtrack to help me along so thought it a good one to throw out to the PH masses. Open to all genre's, artists, albums and styles. Very varied in my taste so throw all sorts my way!
If you have Spotify playlists, then feel free to share as that would be very easy!!

I find any live trance / dance set perfect as i don't have to mess with choosing the next track and most are around an hour long.
Check out the Glow Radio podcasts. They have quite a few live sets from the likes of Avicii and Ingrosso. May not be your cup of tea but perfect for me. I can just ignore everyone else in the gym and crack on.

Gotta be uplifting positive stuff for me. As much as I like heavy metal, I found it got me irritated more than anything.

It is amazing how much negative emotions can weaken you physically.

I made a gym playlist on my phone that I just put on shuffle. Mostly upbeat rock and roll, seems to work
I am amazed at how much of a difference it makes not having music / accidentally coming across a slow song.
This is pretty much my approach as well. I absolutely despise trance / techno / similar dance type music and hate the fact that most gyms seem to regard it as being mandatory. My playlist has a lot of modern indie / rock type stuff that's pretty energetic and gets me going e.g. we are scientists, the wombats, TV on the radio, the vaccines, all mixed in with some more sort of classic rock / punk type stuff.

You are exactly right, the music that they play there is terrible! Noise cancelling headphones + Led Zepplin =

t spewed from the likes of Kiss 100.Am I the only one that finds music a distraction whilst in the gym? I occasionally listen to music, but I find I have no idea what I am actually listening to whilst lifting. If I do listen to music then it needs to be really heavy metal with head banging guitar riffs. Pantera, Slayer, Metallica (older stuff), Megadeth etc. It needs to get me angry before a set.

Love a bit of Aqua and Vengaboys to get me pumped
I don't feel so bad about suggesting Carameldansen now
I rarely use music to get me in the mood for training, however back in my rugby days I listened to Land of my Fathers before each game
During warmup for icehockey it's usually a mix of rock and metal music
