Are red light offences subject to the 14 day NIP rule?
Discussion
Lack of concentration after a fatiguing day contributed to poor judgement and me going through a (just) red light this evening.
Travelling on the A12 out of London on a section where many of the junctions appear to have grey Gatsos for red light offences.
To be honest I'm not sure that the junction itself had a camera, I'm just fearing the worst. On going through I did not notice a flash (I'm assuming as they are Gatso type cameras, they flash).
Does the 14 day rule apply to red light offences as per speeding offences?
I'm assuming if caught, it'll be a case of 3 points and £60 fine?
TIA.

Slightly O/T and may have been asked on here before, but do the red light cameras also work if you “jump” the amber after green?
Reason I ask, a while back had someone next to me (in lane 2) make a “smart” getaway at a set of camera covered lights. I thought (but couldn’t be sure) that I saw a flash. Was relieved that I had waited till the green, but then wondered what if two cars at the same time went early – Would both be done on the same photographic evidence?

My understanding was they have to put it in the post by day 14 but it can arrive later?
Not my understanding. I believe they have 14 days not including the date of offence to get it to your door, with possible exceptions for major events causing delays in the post (snow)?0000 said:

Basically, they need to have put it in the post such that "in the normal course of the post" it would arrive at your door - this means 1st class by day 13 in essencechriscpritchard said:

Many thanks. Apparently you can check to see if your car has been flashed by a camera here...

Was flashed on same road A12 as op. Though 9 years later. Definitely flashed evidence on my own dash cam. 3 weeks later and still no NIP or anything. I’m going to assume the 14 day rule applies and has expired. Maybe the A12 cameras aren’t actually used purely a deterrent. I count my blessings on this occasion. I’m trying the stopping approach to traffic lights ever since though.
