It's a mystery, I did some quotes for a Range Rover Supercharged to get an idea of what to expect in July and have been struggling to find decent prices too, I've had quotes ranging from £1000 to £4000. Admiral came in at 4 different prices depending on which comparison site I used. One company I had my Accord Type R insured with when I was 23 said they couldn't provide cover unless I'd owned the car for more than 2 years, was over 30 and had 5 years NCB minimum.

The annoying thing is, I bought a 4.4V8 a Range Rover about 2 years ago and paid £630 for the insurance.

Online insurance quotes are not accurate as the prices could vary a lot. I would narrow down some insurers and give them a call to find out the real price.

I can only wish that my insurance quotes are less then 4k. The lowest quote I can get at the moment is around 5k for pretty much any car that's under group 3 insurance (Micra, Fabia, Yaris). For this reason, I don't see myself driving for a good few years yet (I'm 17).

Both my cars together come to less than £900. Im 27 with 3 points and an expensive fault claim a year ago. Try putting a spouse or mother on as a named driver

Maybe you could look into a (modern) classic as a viable work car? I'm 25 and the insurance on my golf is £140.

Are you telling them that you're a professional driver for a living? If so that's why your premium is in 4 figures.

Glad to report my renewal has just come through at £75 LESS than last year. A record for car insurance I think.

Im 18 with 1 years no claims, and in my own name on my own policy I have a 206 GTi group 28 car for £1500 which im pretty pleased with. Well im not over the moon with spending that much dead money, but for what it is I see it pretty reasonable.

Im not happy about paying that kinda money at all, but my 1.4 (which has the same fuel economy as my GTi belive it or not) was only £400 cheaper for the year on insurance, so I thought what the hell, £400 extra to have a somewhat more decent car on the road is pennies.

Plus 18 year old male + Hatchback + GTi badges = Severe arseraping usually

Wow I feel lucky. My vx220 with exhaust, sports cat and suspension declared I only pay £400 and on my 2008 cooper s I pay £600 so I'm not doing bad for a 24 year old.

24, no NCB (always been named/company) with a clean license is 1200 on the Zed, which to be honest, was nowhere near as bad as I was expecting...

Get used to it chaps - motor insurers still not making any money. Blame conditional legal fees and "compensation culture".

Last year I paid 820 at 21 on a BMW 335i m-sport coupe, however this has gone up this year (at 22) to 940, still not too bad for the age and car mind...

However, I was hit from the side just before Xmas (third party has admitted all liability from day 1) and when doing quotes now most are around the £1500 mark....I think the car may have to go as I refuse to pay more than 1k for insurance, I didn't even pay that at 17! It really sucks when you have to sell your P&J due to the carelessness of others frown

There is no logic in insurance.

Last year my 3 cars cost £5200 to insure (nothing special Volvo V70R, Saab 93 Aero Convertible and a Jeep Wrangler 4.0lt) and having spent hours looking at all options this was the best deal my broker, and I could find.

This year, with no changes, except a non fault accident and the points on licences are older the price has dropped to £1400.

A saving of £3800. that's the summer holiday paid for!

My broker is dumbfounded and cannot explain.
