Hello All

A used car dealer has agreed to take my 02 SAAB 93 as trade for a VW Golf Mk 4 GT TDI 150.

The SAAB is on its last legs, but it has virtualy brand new Pirelli tyres on it. The dealer has kindly agreed to put my SAAB tyers on the Golf as he plans to send the SAAB to auction and is not expecting to get much out of it anyway.

The SAAB has 205 50 16s on it.

The Golf has 205 55 16s on it.

So it looks as though the Golf would sit a bit lower on 50s than the 55s its got now. Can I get away with putting these SAAB tyres on the Golf?

Thanks

Chris

Yes, it will be fine. The manufacturing tolerances and size alterations between makes will account for more then that I would have thought.

Be aware that it will very slightly alter the calibration on the speedo. The rolling radius will be slightly smaller on the lower profile tyres so when the speedo reads 30mph you will be going a little bit slower then that.

yes You'd probably be fine, but it's probably not worth the risk of not telling them.
