I've started running not that long ago and already I am noticing big changes in my CV recovery times. I am also aware of the quick changes in my leg strength and right kneee stability (whic used to cause me pain walking up stairs).

Does anyone know is there is a direct correlation between improvements in CV and muscular development.. is muscle/tendon/ligament development markedly slower than improvements in CV?

There is no correlation. The more you work your muscles the more oxygen they demand so the harder the heart works. The heart is pure muscle and will grow, particularly

the left side:Doing the same run will feel easier. In short you will be fitter. If you want your legs to grow large then practice squats and sprints. If you don't want

that stick to more endurance/middle distance training. How much your legs grow however is governed largely by genetics.

Thanks for replying. I already have big legs and really don't need them to grow any more. The running is part of the 'move more, eat less' approach to dieting. Cheers.
