Crystal clear radio reception

Thought I'd share this one with you.
Whilst in Halfwits on Friday night thought I'd look at the radio aerials having been plagued by the usual crappy Cerb radio reception.
Purchased an Electronic Glass Mount aerial (item code 333856) on the understanding I could return it if it didn't work. This consists of a small booster box and a small aerial strip.
Took about an hour from start to finish to fit.
Laid it on the rear parcel shelf rather than stuck it under the rear view mirror on the windscreen as suggested on the pack. It could be stuck to the rear window, but I preferred it out of my vision laid on the shelf.
I extended the earth braid & ran the newly lengthened wire, aerial and live feed under the helmet hole and along the centre console to the radio. I then connected the live to the radio's ignition switched live and the newly extended earth to the radio's earth cable.
FM reception is fantastic on Radio 1 - 4 and all local channels. Still can't pick up MW or AM though.
Best £12.99 I've spent!

Excellent tip , best £13 I have ever spent.
I also have simply placed the aerial against the back shelf... and attached the earth braid to the rear belt mounting ( presumed there was some metal under there somewhere)
With some careful routing, the cables are virtualy hidden,didn`t need extending,and reception on FM has been transformed.
Took a trip "round the block" last night, just to check out the interference ( none at all on reasonably strong signals) ....... once confirmed, I turned the radio off and enjoyed the drive.
Who needs a radio ??

Apologies in advance, but as a new owner, I too have discovered static,static and more static on the radio. I duly purchased said aerial from Halfwits, but am a bit lost.
The existing aerial lead disappears up under the centre console rearwards, but where does it go? I've had a bit of a fumble where all the control boxes are in the boot, but can't find the end of the aerial cable. I'm assuming (wrongly?)that it is an integrated aerial in the rear window. Would some kind soul perhaps explain how much dismantling of the rear of the car is necessary? and do I need to buy an aerial extention cable and feed it back along the centre console? If so, how?
If it's too involved to go through on here perhaps you would email me via my profile?

I posted previously about poor radio reception, but this seems like the best solution. I have no idea what you're all talking about, though, but I'll give it a crack, anyway...
Alternatively, it's going in for a service in a few weeks - perhaps TVR Power would sort it out for me then?
While on the subject of sound systems, etc. my passenger side seatbelt's horizontal arm conflicts with the speaker, which prevents the arm being horizontal and causes the seatbelt to twist and tangle, and interferes with the speaker. Any suggestions for curing it?
