Theory Test: Hazard Perception Rubbish

For many of you on here, you won't have seen the new fangled computer based theory test as we did it back in the good old days of paper and pen!
Now it's come time for me to do my theory test again to get a bike licence.
I had assumed when people were slating the Hazard Perception perception part of the test in which you click when you see a hazard, they were being over the top. But seriously, have you seen how bad it is!
How on earth are you supposed to see what's going on on it, it's basically picking when a black pixel look out of place
below is the exact point you need to click on to get the points:

You aren't supposed to click when you first see the hazard, it's the developing hazard that's important.
The lip above is the exact point you need to click to get full points.this is when you are supposed to click.

Presume that black thing which looks like a gate post is a person, and its on a bend?this is when you are supposed to click.

Certainly is stupid.
There's one, or was when I did it, that was a dustbin lorry, which you could see the top and the flashing yellow lights, as you approached the brow of a hill. But if you clicked when you saw the lights, it was too early.

I almost failed mine because i was clicking just before the marks bracket came in. I was being punished for spotting the hazards sooner!!!!
I've been told to practice a three click technique on every major hazard, and one if I'm not sure.a week to go anyhow, so just trying to get practice in on these daft things. The actual theory questions seem easy enough (famous last words) even if there are some daft ones of those, but at least there is something tangible to learn/revise.

OP - Have you bought one of those CD-ROMs that let you practice on your PC? They are really useful and it teaches you things like not to click too regularly.

I was told to try a two click approach. Two or three, probably doesn't matter, and it can help, but feels like you are gaming the system somewhat. Oh, and it's not foolproof, as I had one very short, simple clip in my real test which showed a HGV joining the A road which the camera car is travelling along; I managed to earn a disqualification, presumably due to over-clicking (I clicked perhaps six times - twice when I first saw it, when it began to pull out, and when it became obvious that the car needed to slow). Sticks in my mind, as in all the practice goes I had I never managed to get disqualified.a week to go anyhow, so just trying to get practice in on these daft things. I think the hazard perception test is way too vague/random to be of much use. Good luck, anyway.

It's hardly rocket science, I just recall watching the video and clicking when I saw a hazard. Passed the test, went home, got on with my life. Admittedly, this was 9 years ago, so the test may have changed.
Only part of the theory test that caught me out was some signage for trams. More challenging if you've never been to a city which uses trams.
