Hello,

This might sound like a silly question but is it worth getting a 1.4 tdci ford fiesta remapped for better economy and an improvement in performance?

I recently had my Corsa 1.3 CDTi remapped and it made a massive difference not just in power but bottom end responsiveness as well, my economy also increased although recently with the cold weather it has dropped a bit. We also have a 1.4 TDCi Fiesta on the fleet which we are looking to remap as it feels really slow even when compared to the standard Corsa

Also forgot to add that a few of the other cars that we owned :

BMW 330d
A6 2.7 TDI
Audi TT 225
Merc E270
Merc ML270
Mini One

were also chipped and they too showed an increase of both power, economy and drivability, so I would say yes to a remap

I'd say yes, if costs involved are reasonable (should be).

A quick google reckons there are gains of around 25hp & 30nm increase from remaps which sounds pretty good, certainly enough to notice. I've always found that a good map can completely change an engine.

Here you go:

They don't do Bluefin for yours so you need to find a tuning place with a decent reputation.

Had my Transit Connect upped from 75 to 93 and it made an enormous difference, especially when loaded or fighting headwinds.

Probably nearest Ford dealer with the chassis number of the car, they should be able to supply the code. Otherwise most car audio shops provide a de-code service.
The argument does still remain that for many reasons, as Parliament is flooded by the government's 'cronies', the government are in essence making the law however.

I'm sure Paul Shephard is down your way. He goes by the user ID of Shepevo on most forums. The results Paul has got from many remaps are awesome.
I'll have a search and see if I can find his details.

Nice, thanks. Would £200 be the sort of price i'd be looking to pay?

Quoted the wrong person!!! Doh!

Even easier for you being in Yorkshire. I have used Chip Wizards in Rochdale for 3 of my cars and they also mapped my friends britcar with very good results.

Usually £400-600 for a remap and it will most likely raise your insurance premium and invalidate any warranty you have.

£400 to £600? Why is it so dear... does it take that much time to do?

Depends. Some places will just put on a generic remap, essentially a copy from one they have already done in the past, this will be cheaper. A proper custom remap can take a few hours hence the cost.
