Hi,

Has anyone here used the Trim Technician based in Blackpool?

I have seen that they were ex TVR staff, and it looks like they have done some nice TVR work.

Any info please?

Cheers

I've seen work carried out at D&C Trim at the old TVR factory, and it always looks superb. If you're going to travel to Blackpool, they are definitely worth considering.

Cheers chaps,

I have used D&C in the past and have to say that quality is very good.

However,

With my wallet in mind, D&C know what they want to charge for the job. (which is fair enough)

I know normally you get what you pay for, but, I'm just challenging the theory really! why pay top whack if there are other alternatives available.

These are all ex TVR guys ........ after all.

Now, just let me make it clear that I don't work for, or have any commercial intrest in, TrackVRoad, I'm just a customer.... BUT, give Craig a ring and ask him about trimmers.... They have used D&C many times, and they are very good, according to everyone who's used them, but they are also rather expensive I believe. Ring Craig if you would consider an alternative that might be just as good.

He (John Giddings) came down to the last Lancashire meeting and gave us a little talk on what he's about. Seems a genuine guy and when I go for carpets I'll certainly give hime a go. www.thetrimtechnician.com is the website and his portfolio looks good. No connection by the way.

Cheers

I was at the Lancs meeting as well and his portfolio was impressive. He did quite a bit of the trim for several motorshow cars so can't be that bad. He also said that he charges materials at cost which will no doubt help prices and the price for a pair of seats was very reasonable. Won't say more as can't advertise but well worth talking to I think as an alternative to D+C.

I have met John (The Trim Technician) and was very impressed. He is just about to start re-triming my 420 SEAC once TrackVroad have finished doing some upgrades on the supension.

He is going to start on the Door panels and Seats first, so once they are completed I will post some photos of them

It should be ready for Chatsworth, so if anyone in interested in see the quality of work, you are welcome to have a look once it has been completed.

As promised, below is a picture of the seats John has just revovered.

John has also added seat heaters, hence the wires bottom right.

He is now starting on the door trim.

Sorry about the picture quality, bad lighting!
