Hi folks,

Quick question if I may?

Yesterday I ran out of screen wash (I know, I know)

Filled up this morning and it took 5L

No water came onto the screen and after 20 mins or so the empty light returned

Filled up again at the office and there’s no leak until I pull the stalk and then it pees fluid onto the ground

So….it’s a leak.

Any idea if this is a common problem and one easily fixed at home with the wheel off?

Thank you

the pipe has come off somewhere, or split

find where the pipe comes off the tank and where it connects to the washer nozzles (incl. headlights if applicable)

could be a 90 second job or need a full new pipe

So up on a jack, wheel off and take a shufti I guess. Just wondering if it's a common fault really

Yes it is. Remove the wheel arch liner. Push the pipe back on and secure it with a cable tie.

Brill. Is that an easy job of just taking the wheel off and pulling it out?

From another forum (and using your reply) I've found the following:

At the top centre of the arch there will be IIRC 3 screws that join front to back. Work forwrad removing all teh other ones you see and also those that are on the trailing edge of the PU.

Easy job just a bit of fiddling to pull it out from the arch once all the screws are out

Seems easy enough!

I think same on mine due to the cold weather, not going to get hands dirty so off to opc. I feel a spanking comming my way.

Apart from that superb in the ice and snow.

My washers stopped working after the cold weather last year. Had the OPC check it when in for a service and they charged me about £2 to replace the T-piece in the pipe that was knackered.... Unfortunately they also charged me about 600 quid for the service!

It was indeed the T-piece in the pipe for me too.

I took the car to Carrera Performance in Horsham and they fixed it on the spot for around £40 which is good value I reckon. Very nice people and they showed me around the workshop too. I'll be back when I'm due a service.

Thanks all
