Well after the disappointing end to Oulton Park earlier this month ( Snow/Ice/Rain/Frost bite ) we were keen to get another Track Day into the diary.

So along with quite a few of us who have set up a facebook page (TRACKDAY TALK ) we are attending Anglesea on 14th April booked through Apex Trackdays.

1st time for Anglesea so already looking forward to it.....

Any one else coming ???

Going this weekend as it's my local circuit, first track day, but this weekend is the full GP course OPL for £89.

Find it hard to see why the price should nearly double only a few months down the line?

Guess I'll find out this Saturday, got a horrible feeling I'm going to get hooked and then won't care how much it costs! biggrin

The question is not why it should be double a few months down the line, but why it should be half now. We were charging £99 for Angelsey on the old 1.1mile circuit 13 years ago. £89 is just insanity and there is no way that is sustainable either for the TDO or the circuit. Someone wants their head looking at for coming up with that idea.

The rental does rise to hire the track significantly as the year progresses. Our cost to attend is much higher than quoted and I also can only envisage that in order not to go bankrupt, there must be big numbers of attendees. We limit attendees to 60 which we feel is a sensible number to ensure the track is not too busy, but also to keep the cost of entry to a sensible level.

I see nothing wrong with some of the cheaper days but that is not something we wanted to do.

I organised the first ever car track day at Anglesey 13 years ago now and have organised about 15-20 per year ever since. I know the market for trackdays at the place as well as, if not better than anyone. If they get 80+ cars to Angelsey in February (even at that crazy price) then i'll eat my woolly beany hat (with obligatory PH custard).

Also, be aware that the prices often advertised are not always what you pay when you come to part with your money. Look at trackdaylist and try some out, more often than not the suspiciously cheap ones will be £20 or more more expensive when you book.

Jonny,

I think your hat is safe, looking at the list of attendees only 25 have confirmed so far (assuming they are all are online!) It is a shame I am busy, as £99 and 25 other cars, it is a bargain.

Someone is loosing their shirt !
