Hi guys not been on for ages hope everyone is well and the recession not bititng too much.

Just need a little pointer if poss.

Im currently starting a garage - we run a van rental firm and breaker yard currently - this has also spanned from doing our own work on our fleet (i own a courier firm in manchester) as frequently happens these days. Everything spirals out of control and before you know it you have a breaker and a hire company lol.

We are currently setting up the front of our warehouse as a mechanics and tyre fitting bay - going really well looking quite tidy atm.

We have just bought some really good equipment. 4 poster bradbury, hofman balancer and changer and a hpc screw compressor so in pretty good order.

We have everything else we need to start - just wondering if anyone can give me any additional marketing pointers.

We are aiming to team up with our mot tester so we can do upto class 7. I ve got air jacks that'll lift 60tons so we can do the lot.

We obviously have plenty of customers & contacts and our own fleet to concentrate on so think should all be well.

We are also looking at setting up our own mobile fleet van - seen an ex transco with an onboard pto genny and compressor (thinking of linking up with owner drivers in the courier industry as they cant have the vans off the road too long and obviously we are well placed for offering emergency replacement vans)and we have 2 x tili and slide ategos and use a solomatic recovery frame.

And our courier from does the transport for a huge battery and tow bar manufacturer and a part worn wholesaler so hoping for some good trade prices there.

Sorry to go on - just need some positive feedback before i go forth and launch next month - and any pointers as its a new venture for us - my business partner thinks the market is saturated and its gonna fall flat but im keen and want to exploit our current contacts and expertise.....

PS - anyone point me in the direction for some posters for the garage??? Battery guides/oil visco guides/spark plug guides etc.

Anything to just spruce the workshop and waiting room up a bit. Can i get these from eurocar or andrew pages???

Thanks for taking the time and for your advice guys.

Regards

T
